EV STEM Workshops

Volt & Venture brings electric vehicle technology into focus through EV STEM workshops for schools, summer camps, and community programs. Our flagship experience, Electricity on Wheels, connects classroom learning with a real vehicle, helping students explore how electricity, engineering, and software work together.

Electricity on Wheels

What makes an electric vehicle move? Students explore the path from stored battery energy to motion and discover the roles of motors, onboard computers, and charging equipment. We introduce concepts such as voltage, power, and energy through everyday examples and questions that invite participation. No previous EV knowledge is needed to join the conversation.

Batteries and Charging

Why does charging sometimes take longer? What affects how far an EV can travel? This part of the workshop explores battery storage, charging options, and the effects of temperature, speed, and vehicle design. Students connect these ideas to practical decisions drivers make and consider how charging fits into daily life.

A Guided Vehicle Walkaround

Students get a closer look at an electric vehicle during a guided, stationary walkaround. Features such as the charging port, storage areas, and touchscreen become starting points for discussion. We connect what students can see to the systems beneath the surface, encouraging them to ask questions and explain their observations.

Energy and Career Connections

The conversation extends beyond the vehicle to home solar power, the electrical grid, and careers connected to these technologies. Students explore opportunities in electrical work, automotive service, engineering, and software. Our goal is to help them recognize how their interests could connect with future education and employment paths.
