Bring electricity to life with Volt & Venture. Our mobile STEM workshops help students explore electric vehicles, batteries, and the software that connects them. Through guided demonstrations and a vehicle walkaround, students connect classroom concepts to real technology and possible careers.

What students learn in our mobile STEM workshops
How does a battery move a vehicle? Why does charging speed change? What connects rooftop solar panels to the electricity we use every day? Our mobile STEM workshops use questions like these to encourage curiosity and discussion. Students explore familiar ideas through an electric vehicle, with opportunities to ask questions and connect what they see to what they are learning in school.
Technology and career connections
A vehicle walkaround gives students a closer look at charging equipment, vehicle design, and onboard software. Guided discussions connect these features to the people who design, install, maintain, and improve them. Students can explore how interests in science, computers, or working with their hands might lead toward a career. The experience encourages them to think about which problems they would enjoy solving.
Built on community involvement
Volt & Venture grew from a volunteer learning experience led by two Richmond neighbors and retired military officers. Their shared interests in electric vehicles, home solar energy, and community service inspired a broader goal: helping more young people experience technology firsthand. That community focus continues to shape our approach and our plans to reach more students.
